Aiden Lassell Ripley (American, 1896-1969)

Two Shooting Scenes: After Woodcock and Shooting Woodcock. Both signed "A. Lassell Ripley" in pencil l.r. and titled in pencil l.l., the latter identified on a label from Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York, affixed to the backing. Etchings on paper, plate sizes to 9 x 14 in. (22.8 x 35.4 cm),framed.
Condition: Unobtrusive toning, not examined out of frames.
Estimate $800-1,000

Although they have not been removed from their frames, there are no other visible condition issues to report.

Woodcock Shooting with a label from Abercrombie and Fitch on the frame backing paper that states, "This is an original etching by A.Lassell Ripley, signed artist's proof edition limited." Sheet size is 13 1/4 x 18 1/2 in., affixed to window mat with masking tape in two places on the reverse, light struck, subtle handling creases.

After Woodcock not examined out of frame, but print displays rippling. There is a label from Macolm G. Stevens, Rames-Pictures-Mirrors,
Arlington, Massachusetts, on the frame backing paper.
