Paul Cézanne (French, 1839-1906)

Les baigneurs - petite planche, alternatively titled Les Petits Baigneurs, 1897, second state of two (Venturi, 1156; Cherpin, 6). Unsigned. Color lithograph on chine volant, image size 9 3/8 x 11 1/2 in. (23.6 x 29.1 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Margins over 1/2 inch with deckled edges, foxing (primarily to margins and verso),thinned spots to verso at corners and to lower margin, registration pinholes, pencil annotations to verso.

Provenance: Purchased from E. Weyhe Booksellers, New York, 1926; private Rhode Island collection.

The sheet measures 11 1/8 x 14 1/8 in. The area of thinning in the lower marging is actually several small areas behind the lower left side, and includes some spots just into the image. These are not apparent from the recto.
