Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens's Inkwell, c. 1861-65, black painted tin with a glass insert, and a wooden wall mount with shelf and four small 6th Corps badges, well ht. 2 1/2, dia. 4 1/16 in.

Provenance: From the collection of the late Peter F. Frazier and M. Prudence Fleck.

Note: On the bottom of the well is a note that reads "Taken from the desk of Vice President A. H. Stephens in Rebel senate chambers Richmond Va. at its capture Apr. 3. 1863".
