Condition: Lined with an old canvas lining, scattered retouch, losses to edges, craquelure, surface grime.

Provenance: Estate of Charles P. Fisher, through Castano Galleries, Boston, in the 1950-60s.

The work is thought to be Northern Italian School, late 16th Century. There is a handwritten 20th century label on the front of the frame that suggests an attribution to Il Guercino (Italian, 1591-1666),but this attribution has not been validated.
