American School, Early 20th Century

Portrait of an Auburn, Maine, Cape Cod -style House and Barn. Unsigned, reportedly painted by Celia C. French (1895-1963). Oil on canvas, 7 7/8 x 10 3/8 in., in a period molded giltwood frame. Condition: Very good.

Note: A typewritten note accompanies the painting relating the history of the farmstead and how the painting was purchased at an auction in Auburn, Maine, in June of 1970, of the land and buildings portrayed in the painting.
