Portrait of the Three-masted Schooner SACHEUS SHERMANin Coastal Waters. Unsigned, the vessel identified on pennant, bow, and stern. Oil on canvas, 25 1/2 x 42 in., in a later molded giltwood frame. Condition: Relined, puncture with paint loss c.r., craquelure, minor retouch.

Approx. 1 1/2 in. dia. repaint to two spots on stretcher edge u.l. and u.r. , also a smaller retouch spot at u.l. edge, retouched area to bow, other minor scattered spots of retouch. Small paint loss to two spot in water at l.l. where craquelure is lifting a litlle. There is a line of craquelure following the upper stretcher edge.
