Pair of Portrait Miniatures of Samuel A. Gager and Wealthy Ann Huntington Gager, c. 1843. Unsigned. Watercolor on valentine paper with embossed borders, depicting the half-length subjects in profile, seated in red upholstered chairs, their heads highlighted by shaded gray clouds, 3 1/8 x 2 5/8 in., in period pressed-paper and thermoplastic Union cases. Condition: Light toning and creases.
Provenance: Lucy B. Mitchell collection, then by family descent.
