Design, Boston, and from The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, New York (see below),on the frame backing.
Black and sepia conte on paper, 18 x 25 in. (45.7 x 63.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Subtle rippling, small creases to l.l. corner, not examined out of frame.

Sheet size is 19 1/4 x 22 3/16 inches. Minor soiling to margins, and minor abrasions and a small crease to l.r. corner margin. There appears to be a small strip of paper added at the bottom edge, measuring 1/2 in. high and running across the full width. The strip appears to be contemporary with the drawing and shows the same degree of age and soiling as the other margins. It can be discerned only as a small ridge, which can be felt rather than seen. It conforms to an ink line along the bottom edge, and it is hidden by the mat when the work is framed.

The entire sheet has been professionally conserved, backed with a secondary supporting sheet. The estate stamp is on the new backing. The work is matted, and it is hinged to the back mat in two places on the reverse.
