Hans Sebald Beham (German, 1500-1550)
Two Works: Christ at Table of Simon the Pharisee (Bartsch, 25; Pauli, 27; Hollstein, 27); and Triumph of the Glorious Women, 1549 (Bartsch, 143; Pauli, 244). Both monogrammed within the plate and with collectors' stamps (see below) to verso. Engravings on laid paper, plate sizes to 15/16 x 5 5/8 in. (2.3 x 13.3 cm), together in a single frame.
Condition: Margins approximately 1/8 inch, gentle toning to former.
Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection. Christ; Ex-collection of Heinrich Stiebel (b. 1851), Frankfurt (Lugt, 1367), Davidson Galleries, Seattle Washington, November 1, 2003; Triumph; Ex-collection of Bernhard Keller (1789-1870), Schaffhouse (Lugt, 384).
