Thirty-eight issues: continuous runs for numbers 1-23/24 (1914-1915),and 1-15 (1915-1916); each in limp publisher's wraps, stapled or sewn with colored thread, with the original publisher's wrap-around bands and inserts for many issues, all illustrated throughout, 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 in. (38)
Zeit-Echo was started as a response to the violence of World War I, and included the work of contemporary artists, such as Oskar Kokoschka, Paul Klee, Alfred Kubin, Hans Richter, Richard Seewald, and many others. The journal set out to show the effect war had on painters and writers, and accepted work from across the political spectrum, without an editorial agenda.
