Folio, illustrated with twenty-four plates of fantastical creatures, in publisher's gilt-stamped green textured boards; all text leaves disbound, the original binding was purely adhesive, and is adhesive no more; backstrip detached, 12 1/4 x 9 3/4 in.
Cooke was a serious painter and naturalist with a sense of whimsy.
