Ames Naval Boat Gun and Carriage, c. 1837, bronze tube marked on muzzle AMES MFco 1837 CHICOPEE MASS, and on trunnions AMES MFc 1837 USN MM223 CHICOPEE MASS, mounted on original wooden naval carriage with bronze hardware, tube lg. from muzzle to cascabel 48, ht. 19, bore dia. 3 1/2 in.

Bronze has some patina and has been cleaned in the past, all markings are legible, carriage has a few cracks and some wood loss where cascable has hit. Some research was done trying to locate the contract for this piece but it hasn't been found.
