German Mahogany Westminster Chime Mantel Clock, by Winterhalder & Hofmeier, c. 1880, carved acanthus leaves on the dome top, fabric backed sound frets, fully glazed dial door over the silvered Roman numeral dial marked for retailer J. & E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia, engraved spandrels, subsidiary fast/slow and chime/silent dials, eight-day, time, strike, and chime movement with a brass pendulum, ht. 17 in.
