The Old Stone Mill or the Newport Tower, Newport, Rhode Island. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 16 x 18 3/4 in., in a period molded wood frame. Condition: Tears u.l., u.c., u.r., and l.r., craquelure.
Note: The Newport stone tower is a round stone tower with arches located at the top of a hill in Touro Park, Newport, Rhode Island. It was thought to have been a 17th century windmill but archeological observations put it several centuries older of pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact.

Tears:
Upper left: in sky one vertical about 1/18, one vertical/horizontal 1 1/2 x 1/2 in.
Upper center: in sky above tower horizontal about 1 in.
Upper right: angled tear in sky 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4
Three tears lower right in and around cow: vertical 1 in., horizontal about 1 1/2 and another vertical about 1 in.
Craquelure: Over all areas of canvas, not fine craquelue, lifting very slightly in some spots.
