Literature: This coverlet is pictured in Coverlets and the Spirit of America, Melinda Zongor (Schiffer Publishing, Ltd., Pennsylvania, 2002),pp. 74-5. Zongor writes, "Three of the four Gilmour brothers, Gabriel, Joseph, and William, were weavers...the wonderful sailing ship trademark is uniquely theirs, as is the charming sturdy-looking country house."
