The October American Furniture & Decorative Arts auction includes fine examples of newly discovered furniture, decorative arts, and folk art, many of which are coming to auction for the first time, including a selection of marine paintings that descended in a New England family. Works by Sturtevant Hamblin and Erastus Salisbury Field represent American folk art, and a Vermont applique family portrait is a rare and unusual find.
