Anna Coleman Ladd (American, 1878-1939)

Night, from the World War I memorial in Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts, the demilune bronze plaque with low relief depiction of a corpse caught in barbed wire, with inscribed signature, lg. 19 7/8 in.

N. B. Ladd was an accomplished sculptor and novelist who received the French L├ęgion d'Honneur Crois de Chevalier for founding the Red Cross Studio for Portrait Masks for Mutilated Soldiers in Paris is 1918.
