Anna Coleman Ladd (American, 1878-1939)

Night, from the World War I memorial in Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts, the demilune bronze plaque with low relief depiction of a corpse caught in barbed wire, with inscribed signature, lg. 19 7/8 in.

N. B. Ladd was an accomplished sculptor and novelist who received the French Légion d'Honneur Crois de Chevalier for founding the Red Cross Studio for Portrait Masks for Mutilated Soldiers in Paris is 1918.
