An area of retouch measuring about 1 x 1/2 inch, located on the robes near the figure's cheek, located 10 inches in from the left edge and 15 inches down from the top. Another smaller bit of retouch, about 1/2 inch, located in the robes beneath the figure's chin. Possible retouch in the feather consisting of a few small brush strokes, but this may be natural pigment fluorescence. Other retouch confined to the perimeter of the panel, likely covering minor old frame abrasion. Overall fine craquelure, with minor areas of shrinking, and some scattered minor paint losses. Some varnish inconsistencies visible in raking light.
