Thomas A. Wilmurt, New York, on the frame reverse.
Oil on artist board, 11 5/8 x 7 3/8 in. (29.5 x 18.7 cm),in a Thomas Wilmurt frame (under glass).
Condition: Craquelure, subtle varnish inconsistencies.
N.B. Thomas A. Wilmurt, established in 1848, was a prominent New York frame maker that operated on East 13th Street from 1866 to 1894. (1) He became one of John Singer Sargent's trusted picture framers, and also counted Tiffany & Company amongst his clients (2).
