Description:

Needlework Family Record, "Wrought by Mary N. Ayres/Boston 1827 aged 9," stitched with silk threads on a linen ground with four rows of alphabets above the vital statistics of John and Rebecca (Lombard) Ayres and their seven children, and a pious verse, ornamented with flowers and a stylized vine border, (fading, toning),17 1/4 x 14 in., in a later burl veneer frame.

Note: John Ayres (b. Brookfield, Massachusetts, 1779) and his wife Rebecca (Lombard, b. Truro, Massachusetts, 1783),were married November 15, 1803, and together they had seven children: four born in the Cape Cod area, and three born in the Boston area.
