Description:

Four Early Household Items, America, early 19th century, a cast iron bowl, a turned maple mortar and pestle, a reddish brown putty-decorated dome-top pine storage box, and a deep round redware dye pot with speckled brown interior glaze, (imperfections),ht. 3 7/8 to 10 3/8, box ht. 10, wd. 24, dp. 12 1/2 in.

Provenance: Mortar and pestle from the Bliss family, Rehoboth, Massachusetts.
Estimate $300-400

Mortor & pestle-minor old rim losses; dome-top box two shrinkage cracks on lid, lacking wire hinges, minor paint loss; dye pot- several rim chips, about 35% glaze loss to interior.
