Three Scrimshaw Articles, 19th century, a round brass snuff box or container with a bone disk mounted on the cover with faintly engraved whaling scene, depicting a whale ship, whale, and whaleboat with whalemen with distant iceberg or rocks, a bone carving of a fish and the head of a grotesque figure, mounted with glass eyes, and a carved and turned ivory handle mounted with two brass joinery links, dia. 3 1/4 to 9 in.
