The print has been mounted on linen, which has been wrapped around a stretcher (a common practice among print sellers in the nineteenth century). One of the attached photos should illustrate where the paper ends and the fabric begins, a join hidden beneath the rabbet of the frame but just visible from an oblique angle. Because of the mounting method, this print has not been taken out of the frame.
