Two Character Baby Dolls, incised by Franz Schmidt, Germany, c. 1910 and Heinrich Handwerck, Germany, c. 1910, one with bisque socket head incised FS & Co/1272/50 Z/Deponiert (head separated from body),with inset blue glass eyes and painted mouth slightly agape, fully jointed composition body, wearing blue and white knit bonnet with blue silk ribbon, a cotton and lace gown and white knit booties, ht. 24; the other with bisque socket head incised HW/Made in Germany/1372., with inset brown glass eyes and painted mouth slightly agape, brown mohair wig with affixed white satin bonnet (separated from head),fully jointed composition body, wearing a white cotton and lace gown with white cotton undergarments, ht. 24 in.
