Description:

Six Ninth-plate Early Photography Portraits, a tintype of a young child holding a cat; five ambrotypes: an older woman wearing a black lacy cap, a husband and wife identified as "My father & mother WD Gould & wife (signed) WNJ" in inscriptions on an accompanying note, a young woman identified as "Jane Allen/my childhood friend. born Apr 12, 1841. Died when 18y old of consumption. (signed) H.W.C." on an accompanying note; and a young woman posed before a patriotic backdrop; mounted in "Boy with His Rabbit," "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "The Charter Oak," "Beehive with Farm Tools," and "The Elopement" (Krainik 386, 385, 365, 377, 380) Union cases, (imperfections).

young child holding a cat- minor mat scratches, dust.
older woman/a black lacy cap- good.
husband and wife- good, but black metal backing has some sort of light powder on it making the images rather light.
young woman/Jane Allen- several mat scratches, some smearing to emulsion, mostly to background.
young woman/ patriotic backdrop- some grime to glass.
