Description:
Ninth-plate Daguerreotype and Ambrotype Portraits of a Young Deceased Child, the daguerreotype depicting a half-length portrait of a child holding a posy, lying on a flower-patterned cushion, identified on a folded piece of paper containing a lock of hair and pinned to the velvet pad which is inscribed "Charles Morey & lock of his hair/died February 28, 1857-17 mos."; the ambrotype depicting a full-length portrait of a child reclining on a settee with a carved crest rail, mounted in black and brown "Day, Aurora with the Genius of Light" (both Krainik 391) Union cases, (tarnish ring and minor corrosion spots to daguerreotype).
