Early Kestner Closed Mouth Bisque Head Doll, Germany, c. 1880, blue sleeping glass eyes, closed mouth, impressed 7 on head, fat roll on neck, original blonde mohair wig, fully articulated straight wrist composition body, pink dress and hat, retains blue ribbon from doll event in 1989, doll ht. 12 in.

Pate appears to have been off and reglued, not significant. Tiny bit of speckling and soil to chin. Minute eye chip to lower left lid. No hairlines. Body in original finish, no repaint, minimal wear.
