French Bisque Head Lady Doll, c. 1870, closed mouth, blue stationary eyes, swivel neck on bisque shoulder plate, brown human hair wig, fully articulated kid over wood body with bisque arms (one broken),old undergarments and white dress with braid trim, laced leather boots, ht. 14 1/2 in.

Right bisque arm has been broken, reglued, and heavily overpainted. Stuffed kid body to knees, articulated shoulders, elbows, and knees, not hips. Kid over wood upper arms and lower legs, torso stuffed kid, gusseted at upper thighs. Joints are not loose. Head does not have damage, tiny black spot or line at edge of nose. Plaster visible lower left eyelid, appears original set. Chip on edge of neck.
