Blue Dragon Robe, Chifu, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912),embroidered in couched gold-wrapped threads with eight dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst clouds, bats, and the Buddhist emblems, a ninth dragon on the underflap, all above a lishui border with auspicious emblems amongst rolling waves; the collar and horse hoof cuffs similarly worked, trim embellished with silver and gold threads, 58 x 82 in.
