Pair of Cloisonne Gu-shape Vases, China, 20th century, in three sections: trumpet-shape neck, inverted trumpet-shape foot, and an ovoid shape in between, the neck decorated with four taotie motifs in shaped reserves, the ovoid center with peonies and scrolls, and the foot with four scrolling motifs in matching reserves, all depicted on a turquoise ground filled with floral and foliated scrolls, four bands of ruyi mushroom and two gilt triple-line bands demarcating the three sections, rim of the mouth gilt, rim of the foot with gilt impressed design, ht. 13 3/4 in.
