Signed, dated, and inscribed "Eric Pape 93/Paris" l.r., inscribed "Alice Monroe/...
a Paris art student/.../Sketched at the Monroe home on the Ave. de la [sic] Observatoire" l.c.
Graphite and whiting on textured paperboard, 12 3/4 x 18 3/4 in. (32.5 x 47.7 cm),framed.
Condition: Tear to u.l. edge, wear to edges of board, scattered small abrasions, surface imperfections.
Estimate $800-1,200

Tear to u.l. edge measuring 1 inch and located 2 1/2 inches down from the corner. Glue and paper remnants at each corner of the reverse.

Full inscription reads: "Alice Monroe/Alice a Paris art student/She received #1 on her Life Drawing/at the Académie/at this time. Sketched at the Monroe home on the Ave. de la Observatoire."

Estate stamped four times on the frame backing paper.
