David L. De Harport (American, 1920-2001)

Four Southwestern Views: Timberline Wood - Colorado,1951, Ranch -Colorado, 1945, Corrizo Mts - Arizona, 1949, and Dunes - Arizona. Titled, signed and dated "David L. De Harport" in pencil on the left edge of the mat, Dunes inscribed in pencil with artist's address and printing notes. Gelatin silver prints on matboard, image/sheet sizes to 7 1/4 x 9 1/2 in. (18.4 x 24.1 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Slight losses to edges of images.

N.B. De Harport was an anthropologist from the Peabody Museum at Harvard University. His was among many surveys that systematically inventoried the archeological resources of a large portion of the Canyon de Chelly monument between 1946 and 1951. He received his PhD in anthropology from Harvard in 1960.
