Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)

Salomé from LA SUITE DES SALTIMBANQUES, 1905, from the 1913 edition of 250, published by Ambrose Vollard, Paris (Bloch, 14). Signed and dated within the plate. Etching and drypoint on paper, plate size 15 3/4 x 13 5/8 in. (40.0 x 34.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Toning, staining, foxing, not examined out of frame.
Estimate $1,500-2,000

Out of the frame the sheet is Van Gelder Zonen paper (with watermark), having deckled edges to both side margins, and measuring 24 x 20 in. The image is prevalently light struck and stained, and has foxing as well. The entire verso is stained. There are white cloth tape hinges along the upper edge of the sheet. A condition report from Christa Gaehde, 1983, accompanies the lot.
