Portrait of Samuel Cabot Jr. of Boston (1784-1863). Signed "Daubigny" l.l., inscribed "Mrs. S. Cabot/Samuel Cabot by Daubigny" on the backing. Gouache on ivory, 5 3/4 x 3 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Vertical crack.
N.B. The present work may be identical to a portrait referenced in the exhibition catalogue for New England Miniatures 1750-1850, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, April 24 to May 28, 1957.
