Two Portraits of Edith (Enid) Elizabeth Hallin of Dorchester, Massachusetts:
Scott Clifton Carbee (American, 1860-1946),Full-length Portrait in a Red Dress, signed "Scott Carbee." l.l., oil on canvas, 50 x 39 1/2 in., unframed; and John Waller (American, 20th Century),Enid, Age 37 Years, signed and dated "John Waller '45" l.r., titled, dated, and inscribed ".../Feb 1945./Scott Carbee School" on the reverse, graphite on paper, sheet size 10 x 8 in., unmatted, unframed. Condition: Dress with two nail punctures at sides, craquelure, varnish inconsistencies, surface grime, signature partially reinforced; Enid with 1/2 in. tear to l.l. edge, crease to l.l. corner, tack holes, nicks, and losses to edges of sheet.
