Three Framed 20th-Century Portraits in Assorted Media

Carlos Lacámara (Cuban/American, 1928-2007),Don Quixote, signed "Lacámara" l.r., acrylic on Masonite, 24 x 17 3/8 in.; American School, Portrait of Man, monogrammed and dated "RL/A/65" l.r., ink on Japan paper, sight size 17 x 16 3/4 in.; American School, Girl with Two Birds, signed indistinctly l.r., screenprint, sheet size 15 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. Condition: Man with rippling and scattered holes to sheet, Girl with subtle handing creases, affixed to window mat with brown paper tape.

N.B. Carlos Lacámara was born in Cuba to Spanish parents in 1928. With his wife and two young children, Lacámara escaped from Cuba in 1960, settling for a time in Washington, D.C., then in Puerto Rico, and finally in California. Concerning the painting at hand, Adria Lacámara, widow of the artist, writes that, "Most of the Don Quijote paintings...were done in Puerto Rico in the year 1966.
