Holmes, Oliver Wendell (1809-1894), Autograph letter signed, two pages, dated Boston, November 18th, 1874, to F.O. Vaille, an interesting letter concerning his own opinion of his photographic portrait, "The likeness is indisputable and does ample justice to every wrinkle. I have had pleasanter-looking pictures of myself, but this looks as good-natured as I did when it was taken," framed with holograph envelope and photographic portrait, (some bleed through, very good to excellent overall, not examined out of frame).
