Description:

Hamilton, William, Sir (1730-1803), Hancarville, Pierre Francois Hugues d', Antiquites etrusques, grecques et romaines..., Florence, 1808, Volume IV only, boards, with numerous plates, some colored and folding, folio, (w.a.f., disbound, heavy chipping, scattered tears).
Estimate $800-1,200

possibly lacking some plates and/ot text. There are forty single page color prints and twenty-eight double page color prints. In case you are interested, I found eighty-two black and white plates.
Binding completely shot and mostly disbound. Ragged edge to many of the plates. The single page plates are good overall. The double page plates suffer from some rubbing to many of the center folds, two split along center and one with chips to edges. They all exhibit age typical spotting, wear and defects.
