18kt Gold and Rose-cut Diamond Bracelet, Anton Frühauf, c. 1960s, composed of eight highly textured panels set with rose-cut diamonds, 65.7 dwt, lg. 7 3/8 in., signed.

Note: Anton Frühauf was born in 1914 to a family of metalsmiths in Merano, Italy. He attended the Academy of Applied Art in Munich, after which he moved to Rome where he worked as a goldsmith. Upon his return to Merano he opened his own studio that became known for its avant-garde jewelry. His work can be quite architectural, often resembling building facades of the 1960s. He died in 1999. Frühauf's "King's" bracelet is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and is pictured in Artful Adornments Jewelry from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, by Yvonne J. Markowitz, p. 172.
