The Race, alternatively titled Homeward Bound, 1942, edition of 250, published by Associated American Artists (Fath, 56). Signed "Benton" in pencil l.r., signed within the matrix, and identified on a label from AAA affixed to the backing. Lithograph on paper, image size 8 7/8 x 13 1/4 in. (22.5 x 33.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Mat burn, unobtrusive toning, scattered pale fox marks, rippling, not examined out of frame.

Print mounted to window mat with masking tape along each edge of the reverse. Brown paper tape remnants around perimeter of the reverse. Toning and foxing to sheet. Acid burn from old corrugated backing, along with scattered spots of reduced staining, to the reverse. Sheet size approximately 11 x 15 1/2 in. The condition photos online include one taken of the reverse against a light box.
