John K. Hillers (American, 1843-1925)

Pueblo of Wolpi, One of the Moki Towns, Arizona, c. 1879. Identified within the print, indistinctly inscribed in ink l.l. Albumen print mounted onto grey paper, image/sheet size 9 7/8 x 12 7/8 in. (25.0 x 32.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Mounted onto paperboard, rippling, staining to grey sheet, minor surface rubs.
Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent.
Estimate $250-300

Out of the frame the image and sheet measure 10 x 13 in. There is discoloring over all. Primarily within the sky there are ares of surface soiling, plus printing imperfections (perhaps dust and/or scratches to the negative?).
