Sheet of Studies: Head of the Artist, A Beggar Couple, Heads of an Old Manand an Old Woman, c. 1632, an early impression (Bartsch/Hollstein, 363 ii/ii; Hind, 90). Unsigned. Etching and drypoint on laid paper with a textual watermark, plate size 4 x 4 1/8 in. (10.0 x 10.4 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Margins 5/8 inches or more with tiny loss to l.l. corner, minor tear to upper margin, subtle toning/soiling, annotations to the reverse.
Provenance: A Rhode Island estate.

The sheet measures 5 7/16 x 5 1/2 inches, and is hinged at the upper corners. The tear to the upper margin is near the right corner, is shaped like an angular "s," and is about 1/4 inch long. The impression is somewhat drily printed.
