Condition: Retouch, subtle bowing, minor lifting, craquelure.

Provenance: Acquired by Samuel Curtis Wilcox (1811-1886),Berlin, Connecticut; by family descent to the present owners. Wilcox founded the first American tinware factory under the name Carpenter, Lamb & Wilcox, and traded extensively in the Southern states. (1) Wilcox also served as President of the Berlin Iron Bridge Company from 1871 until his death.
