Antelope House from the Rim. Signed and dated "Laura Gilpin 1976" in pencil on the facing mat, identified in an inscription and on a label from the artist affixed to the backing. Gelatin silver print, image size 13 3/4 x 10 7/8 in. (34.9 x 27.7 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Subtle surface rubs plus two 1/4 inch indentations into image c.l.

Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent.

The indentations are minor and visible only in strong raking light. Photograph is presented in an inner and outer mat. Photograph is mounted to inner mat backing board, sheet size measuring 20 x 16 inches. Reverse of the inner mat bears artist's label and pencil inscription "Antelope House from the Rim" center top. The printed artist's label reads "A PHOTOGRAPH BY/LAURA GILPIN/SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO" and is inscribed with type-written title "ANTELOPE HOUSE FROM THE RIM." Signed and dated in pencil "Laura Gilpin/1976" on the front side of the inner mat widow, l.r.

The two surface indentations mentioned in the condition report above are crescent shaped, and, with the surface rubs, are visible mainly under raking light.
