Engraving after a Self-Portrait of Philippe de Champaigne, Signed and dated "Se ipse pinxit...G. Edelink [sic], Sculpsit 1676..." in the plate.. Engraving, plate size 15 3/4 x 13 1/8 in. (40.0 x 33.3 cm),framed.

Condition: Toning, mat burn, insect damage.

N.B. The engraving at hand by Edelinck records a lost self-portrait by Philippe de Champaigne (Belgian/French, 1602-1674). Another version of the self-portrait (oil on wood, 18 x 13 1/2 in.),thought to be after Philippe de Champaigne and based on the engraving, is in the collection of the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University (1966.149).
