Description:

Two Wedgwood Majolica Shell Compotes, England, c. 1870, each polychrome decorated with a nautilus shell set atop the entwined tails of two dolphins, impressed marks, ht. 16 1/2 in.

Literature: Illustrated in Wedgwood II by R. Reilly, plate C37.
Estimate $1,500-2,500

Same model but slightly different in colors. Each in very good condition with no cracks, chips or restorations.
