The second label is from "NORTH SHORE ARTS EXHIBITION/OF GLOUCESTER/EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL EXHIBITION/1940" and is inscribed in ink with the following "Title: Gray Day/Artist: J. Eliot Enneking./Price: $45.00/Return Address: 54 Dwight St./Brookline, Mass." The paper backing of the canvasboard has acid burn and staining.
