Northern Italian Violoncello, Storioni School, c. 1800, labeled LAURENTIUS STORIONI FECIT, CREMONAE 1775, the top of fine to medium grain, the half-slab cut back of fine curl, the ribs and matching scroll of fine curl, length of one-piece back 72.3 cm.
Note: Sold with dendrochronology analysis by John Topham, Red Hill, Surrey, February 20, 2010, stating that the "most significant cross-matching date obtained for the youngest rings measured on the bass and treble sides of the front was AD1717 and AD1713 respectively."
