The Whampoa Anchorage and Island. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, showing ships at anchor and the town of Whampoa with the nine-stage pagoda at center, 18 x 23 1/2 in., in the original carved wooden frame. Condition: Relined, craquelure, retouch to sky and in craquelure.

Heavy craquelure overall, the lower portion of painting with retouch to the spaces between craquelure separation, large central and upper right areas of repaint in sky which also have craquelure, with some slight lifting of paint in this area.
