Ink and graphite on paper, sheet size 5 1/8 x 8 1/8 in. (13.0 x 20.6 cm),framed.
Condition: Subtle toning, acid burn from tape hinges at four corners verso.

The work was one of eight original drawings included in a presentation copy of Souvenirs d'un marchand de tableaux by Ambroise Vollard, published by Éditions Albin Michel in 1937, which was pen inscribed and gifted to his chauffeur Marcel Z. Méraud (see lot 777 for two letters in the Archives Matisse from Marcel Z. Méraud regarding the circumstances of Vollard's gift).
